last night I went to a very *gay* fancy dress party, which was surprisingly fab. I went as myra hindleys pussy (my friend went as myra hindley, did you see what I did there?). the house was decked out to look like a very creepy coffin, the hosts had hired staff to greet guests and run a cloakroom, something you'd never get at a hetro party! the guests had really put lots of effort into their outfits; janet leigh (a semi-naked man in a towel and shower curtain); dr mengale (judo jacket and clip on hairpiece) and my favourite, batman (v.small plastic pants and a small bat).

my outfit was loved (hotpants, spikey heels and kitten ears) and I was asked to strut up and down the room a lot! I didn't think that I had too much to drink, but boy do I feel it today! I am officially a light-weight!

I was asked to go on to a club in limehouse, it sounded fun so I left with batman and a guy in a red suit. I was promised a night of wild dancing but the club was closed, my car-hosts looked desperate to shag so I politely got a car and went home for a really big sleep!

batman lives in hackney and works in PR, he left me his number - its so nice to be given a number on the genuine premise of meeting for a drink and knowing that there is noting more sordid that a double mocha la la latte behind it!

the team member has something to tell me that he wouldn't discuss last night, I wait for the call with trepidation.

last night saw the end of an era. the routemaster has finally done its last rounds on the no 38 bus route. myself and ann joined the assembled bus enthusiasts for a last goodbye to the greatest bus ever built.

earlier in the day I took the 38 to work, being lucky enough to get a seat on one of the original buses running the route. it was really emotianal as geeky men in anoraks cried at the prospect of never seeing such a bus in service again. if I'm being truthful I'll have to admit that I shed a tear or two. to me it was one of the big plus points to living in hackney. now, with the bendy bus (ick!) crumbling, retro, urban hackney is becoming no better than plastic and crap croydon.
